Chapel

In keeping with our vision of developing well rounded students, we have weekly Chapel experiences to develop healthy spiritual lives in our children.

Our themes this year are Bible Wisdom, Bible Animals, Jesus’ 12 Friends, and The Whole Armor of God.   In the first series, Bible Wisdom, we review what the Bible says about friendship, obedience, anger, trust, honesty, failure, self-esteem, choices, and wisdom.   In the second series, Bible Animals, we review Pastor Dave’s favorite Bible animals including Noah and the animals, The Lion’s Den, A Talking Donkey, A Whale’s Lunch, The Eagle’s Wings, The Smiling Camel, The Lonely Pelican, and The Shepherd’s Lambs.   In the third series, Jesus’ 12 Friends, we become more familiar with Andrew, Philip, Nathaniel, Matthew, Simon, James, Judas, The “other” Judas, Peter, James the second, John, and Thomas.   In the fourth series, The Whole Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10 – 17), the topics of discussion are Helmet of Salvation, Belt of Truth, Sword of the Spirit, Shield of Faith, Breastplate of Righteousness, and Gospel Shoes.

Each week a different class serves as our chapel assistants.   Chapel assistants serve as acolytes, prayer leaders, song leaders on occasion, and as part of the message, if needed.

Each week during the month, we use a different means of communicating the Chapel message. The first Wednesday of the month is “screen day” where we utilize our projection system.   The second Wednesday is “special guest day” when we invite a special guest who will work with the Pastor leading Chapel.   The third Wednesday is “bag day”.   On bag day, the members of the class assisting with worship bring an object in a bag that the Pastor turns into a lesson.   The fourth Wednesday is birthday celebrations for those who have had birthdays during the month.
