A Little About Why LCC Does SCRIP
A couple of years ago we started to look into a way to raise money for the school that didn’t require parents to sell over-priced merchandise and added value to their lives. We found the SCRIP program. It is really a simple idea. As parents, we buy the SCRIP (or gift cards) at face value. The wholesaler from whom we purchase the cards gives a percentage of each sale back to LCC. The percent ranges from 2% to 20%. It usually averages out to about 7% to 8% back to our school.
Last school year parent purchases raised over $10,000 for LCC. This money has been used toward the purchase of 2 Mobile Labs with 45 Net Books which are used in our Elementary and Middle Schools. We have also been able to purchase enough ELMOs to have one in each class in Kindergarten thru Fourth Grade.
This year we hope to raise $15,000 and use it for additional technology upgrades! Every percentage that LCC earns adds up. Even if you only purchase a few select cards, your purchases combined with everyone else’s really do make a difference!
This is a fantastic way to plan your shopping and gift giving AND support LCC!
